We have worked closely with award-winning Royal Nawaab Restaurant to create the vision for the ambitious refurbishment of the neglected but iconic Stockport Pyramid building, creating a new standard for destination dining and events.
The Royal Nawaab Pyramid is the largest restaurant concept of its kind in Europe - a premium, high-specification venue designed to host weddings, celebrations and exceptional dining experiences at scale. From the outset, our challenge was to craft a luxurious, multi-functional yet durable environment that balanced grandeur with usability. Our starting point was to understand the Royal Nawaab brand itself by visiting their other impressive sites in London and Essex. In this Discovery phase we spent time with the founders, hearing about their passion for excellence which inspired us to start designing initial concepts for this hugely ambitious scheme. We defined how each area would function in isolation and as part of the wider concept, ensuring seamless transitions between private and open-plan spaces. At every stage we considered the customer experience, the client and brand elements and the physical opportunities and limitations of the iconic building itself.
A high level of craftsmanship was central to the concept. Working alongside trusted fabricators, lighting specialists and interior finishers, introducing tailored elements throughout — from hand-finished showpiece feature lighting, gold screens and wall panels to marble surfaces and luxury soft furnishings and premium flooring. Every detail was considered to enhance the experience, while supporting the operational needs of a high-capacity hospitality venue.
Across its vast footprint, the Royal Nawaab Pyramid features multiple wedding venues, dining areas and socialising spaces, which feature custom lighting installations, bespoke joinery, intricate ceiling features and premium materials.
