The new Heligan Group
Heligan Group, a boutique financial services company, recently embarked on a brand refresh journey to enhance its appeal to discerning audiences.
Heligan Group has unveiled a sophisticated new look and feel developed by WDC Creative, complemented by an upgraded website at heligangroup.com which was designed and built by our in-house web development team. This strategic move aims to strengthen Heligan's positioning, showcasing its expertise in intelligence-led financial services.
Sophisticated branding
The new brand identity of Heligan Group centres around a monochrome colour scheme, exuding luxury and elegance. This sophisticated palette, combined with a refined logo, positions the brand towards the premium end of the financial services sector. The updated visual identity aims to resonate with discerning clients seeking a high-end experience. The logo's sleek design reflects Heligan Group's commitment to innovation and forward-thinking in financial intelligence.
The transformation from the old brand to the new one is subtle. Previously, Heligan Group's brand featured distinct colours for each division, creating a visually segmented appearance. While this approach highlighted the diversity of services, it lacked the consistency necessary to appeal to a premium market. The new monochrome palette unifies the brand, creating a more sophisticated visual styling, and imagery with similar colour tones adds to the overall high-end feel ensuring that every touchpoint with the brand conveys quality and exclusivity.
New brand positioning
As design consultants, we helped to define Heligan’s brand proposition, developing an overall positioning statement: “We see things differently” and then articulating the tone of voice and delivering this through website content. The positioning underlines Heligan’s unique approach and expertise in providing tailored financial solutions, driven by intelligence.
We reinforced this new statement by using imagery from different angles and perspectives and introducing a new graphic device – the Heligan “framing device” used to highlight key items of Heligan Intelligence. The device is used across all communications to emphasise Heligan’s insights and expert analysis building on the team’s law enforcement and national security backgrounds.
Hero brand film
To further explain Heligan’s unique brand positioning and what they do, we created a powerful and cinematic brand video to feature as the hero video on their new website homepage. Using striking imagery and sophisticated 3D animations, the video strengthens Heligan’s new premium branding and introduces Heligan as a confident and trusted financial services company with a unique intelligence focus.

Refreshed website
Our in-house web team redesigned the Heligan website resulting in a cleaner, more modern and elegant design, and concise and engaging copy to improve the user experience. Featuring high-quality imagery, the compelling brand video, and the new monochrome colour palette, the website has a much more premium feel and reinforces Heligan Group's confidence and expertise in the financial services industry.
The website also boasts an excellent performance score (91 on desktop) and seamless and efficient user experience, critical for the tech-savvy high net worth clientele. This is achieved through a clear navigation and sitemap, smaller image files and streamlined code. Achieving a carbon impact score of A the website is also much more environmentally friendly – compared to the E score of the previous website.
