Throughout December we’re supporting Little Hearts Matter
Little Hearts Matter (LHM) is a charity that supports children born with only half a heart and their families.
Little Hearts Matter wrap a blanket of understanding and care around families at every roller-coaster stage of their half a heart journey.
LHM are currently the only national UK charity offering specialised support to anyone affected by the diagnosis of single ventricle heart condition.
“Imagine being told your child has the most complex of all heart conditions and that they can never be cured. Imagine then being expected to make treatment decisions with no real understanding of what the future might bring. This is why Little Hearts Matter exists.”
LHM offer a mixture of personal support and clear information to help reduce families’ stress and improve their understanding. They also connect young members, parents, grandparents and families.
Their story began back in 1994, when they were known as Left Heart Matters - set up at the request of parents of children with a life-threatening diagnosis of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. At first, they were a volunteer team that offered support to families, then in 1999 they became recognised as a full charity following a Lottery grant to support the further development of their work. They changed their name in 2004 and began to offer support to anyone diagnosed of a single ventricle heart condition.
LHM is a charity close to our own hearts and so this December we’re changing our email signatures to include a donation link, directly signposting towards the charity and using our social media channels to promote the amazing work that they do!
If you would like to help us to support LHM you can make a donation through their website www.lhm.org.uk or you can text EVE10 to 70470 to donate £10*
*Texts cost the donation amount plus one standard network message rate.
We want to extend a big thank you to all who are able to donate during December, as part of our fundraising efforts.
