BTV at The Salon de Parfums, Harrods
Boadicea the Victorious have opened a dedicated retail space in the prestigious Salon de Parfums, on the 6th floor of Harrods, Knightsbridge.
The brand has marked its expanding popularity by choosing this particularly exclusive location, where it sits amongst a range of prominent, high end perfume brands.
We used the mythology surrounding Queen Boadicea as a design narrative to underpin the retail concept. The rich Celtic iconography that is synonymous with Queen Boadicea was combined with a British drawing room aesthetic that we felt reflected the tradition and heritage of the brand.
The store design includes the product display areas located to the perimeter of the space, leaving a central consultation area containing a high backed chair, button backed sofa and bespoke low level table. Customers have the opportunity to personalise perfume bottles with a selection of limited edition shield designs and precious stones for this exclusive brand.
We explored the true essence of Boadicea the Victorious in terms of the brand heritage, craft and provenance in order to apply a decorative layer as a backdrop to the product. Elements such as the large format graphic of the Boadicea sculpture by Thomas Thornycroft, the laser etched brass framed patterns and the internally illuminated stained glass screen between the retail and staff areas work to complement the rich material palette of dark walnut veneer, Versailles pattern flooring, polished brass, antique mirror, plus leather, marble and velvet.
