Interrupt Labs

Transforming a brand to appeal to the target audience, creating a modern and engaging website to help boost recruitment.

Challenge

Interrupt Labs wanted to adapt their existing branding and create a new website which was more appealing to prospective employees. Specialists in vulnerability research, they are continually looking to recruit the best of the best to join their growing team and wanted their website and brand to attract younger talent, individuals less likely to engage with a formal corporate communications style.

Approach

A branding refresh begins with the identity and after doing some competitor benchmarking, we developed a number of concepts to update the existing Interrupt Labs logo with a new colour to improve competitive standout. The creation of brand guidelines helped to ensure the new colour palette was consistently but appropriately incorporated across all marketing materials. We then designed a bespoke purple mascot to help bring the brand personality to life, aiming to boost appeal among the target audience.

The design and build of the new website were undertaken with prospective Interrupt Labs team members in mind, using simple and concise copy, blogs written by current team members to highlight examples of the work they do and links to current vacancies. In addition, a Challenges page was created to appeal to coding enthusiasts, offering fun tests to attract potential future employees. The purple mascot was incorporated throughout the website to establish a distinct brand personality, and a Dark/Light mode toggle was introduced to provide choice of user experience and deliver a modern, engaging and accessible site.

Solution

The updated branding and new website deliver a very strong and modern look, with impactful colours and a fun, unique mascot to help Interrupt Labs stand out from the tech crowd. The mascot has also appeared on other recruitment materials, such as flyers and pull-up banners used at recruitment events. The website provides a company overview, examples of their research and the current vacancies, with the Challenges page a key destination for future recruits – a quirky and fun alternative to sending a CV!
